No doubt there are many people watching news reports and listening to various conferences and presentations from politicians who think that at last things are normalizing and we will again experience the freedom and safety we used to feel like working and living in America. Sure, there were always challenges- sometimes very grave- but there was also a sense of personal freedom clearly now challenged for journalists, doctors, scientists and activists who are now vocally disturbed by the facts and implications of the “new normal.” Somehow, their concerns, given our own rights and privileges as citizens, may be impact us in very serious ways- as freedom to speak and act intelligently is necessary to protect ourselves from incursions against our health, safety, loss of opportunity, value of our assets and other factors.

Will we feel this way again? To not feel suffocated when we walk into a store, to see people’s faces- even when they frown, to go near our neighbors, friends and even those we don’t know, to not feel obligated to wipe everything we touch and to believe there is a government we can trust that insists on our Constitutional rights. There is, indeed, much work to be done- and we need to look at the challenges of the day- very carefully- because we are still part of a country that purports to be a democracy.

The Pandemic and all its implications are among the things we must face. It is the extraordinary challenge of today- and for those of us who believe, it is probably a good thing to seek some equally extraordinary guidance from another level to help us.

The data goes through March 5, 2021, with 31,079 recorded adverse events, including 1,524 deaths following injections of the experimental COVID mRNA shots by Pfizer and Moderna.”
